Mr. and Mrs. David
Married on April 1st, 2017 at The Barn at Harvest Moon Pond in Poynette, WI.
Derek and Cassie are a fun couple with a sense of humor that I totally love!
Derek and Cassie were engaged on April 1st, 2016. No fooling!! So they decided to set the wedding date for April 1st, 2017 since it landed on a Saturday, naturally.
The flowers and rings blew me away! Cassie CROCHETED the flowers on the tables by in her wedding colors. AND, Cassie made the socks for her bridesmaids, her, and Derek! But wait! Cassie also crocheted the shawls for her bridesmaids. I need lessons from Cassie.
The bridal flowers are made of wood! These creative people at ecoflower.com make lasting real looking flowers from wood. THIS is astounding. Furthermore their wedding rings are meteorite and dino bone. Could these people be any cooler?!
Now let’s chat a bit about the weather. April 1st can be chilly in Wisconsin. Somehow their April fools luck (is that a thing?) gave them a 60 degree sunny day. It rained for 10 days before the wedding day and at least a week after. How in the world did they get so lucky?
This barn wedding was a casual family affair. Derek’s groomsmen are his three bothers who are triplets. That must have been some household and kuddos to mom for raising four boys! Cassie had both of her sisters as bridesmaids, and she insisted on first look with her dad. She is a daddy’s girl for certain. It was tearfully joyful moment when he saw his little girl all dressed up for her wedding day.
It was a glorious heart felt rustic barn wedding. I wish Derek and Cassie all the best!
Cheers to the wedding vendors and some amazing DIY skills that made this wedding happen!
