Bonnie and Heather are Married at Sugarland Barn in Arena, WI on June 16th, 2017
Bonnie and Heather light up the room with their love, light, and laughter. #handbmeant2be is the hashtag that describes this union of marriage in one little line. They way they laugh and look at one another, just fills the room with warmth and light. I am so so so happy for them. MEANT TO BE.
Sugarland was the perfect venue for this perfect wedding day. The old charming houses remind me of a southern plantation rich in history. The courtyard with the biggest old oak that I ever seen embraced them during their vows. The barn was warm a hue of richness and twinkle lights that welcomed friends and family from afar.
Heather and Bonnie live and work in Illinois. Bonnie’s parents live near Madison, so luckily Bonnie’s parents helped with most of the wedding planning being the point people for appointments and such. They did AMAZING! These families loved watching these two ladies finally tie the knot.
Heather was not going to wear a dress, but decided to last minute. This was surprise for Bonnie. How sweet! I tried my best to keep it under wraps as we got some pictures before Heather put her dress on. This was easy to do with Sugarland having the set up of two getting ready houses.
Bonnie’s family is so very grateful for Heather’s parents because sadly Bonnie’s have passed. During Heather’s dad daughter dance, Heather’s dad opened his arms for Bonnie to join. Not a dry eye was in the house, I assure you!
We got an amazing thunderstorm towards the end of the evening. Bonnie and Heather were game to step out in the rain for a fun backlit photo. I even snapped one of the lighting itself to have them keep as a reminder of the fire in their hearts for one another.
I wish them all the best and many happy days in Door County at Bonnie and Heather’s vacation home under an old oak tree.
Cheers! – Erin Melissa
