Brian and Kari are Married at Devils Head.
The wedding day was a perfect sunny fall day among the rolling hills and bluffs of Baraboo at Devils Head Resort. Simple and elegant touches using the colors navy and wine set the tone for a warm rich wedding with green hills in the backdrop.
But, let’s back up and recap on how he proposed. I am going to quote myself and Brian and Kari here. I blogged their engagement session in March and here is a snippet.
“I love all my clients but these two met in band in high school just like my hubby and I. How funny is that?
AND the way he asked Kari to marry him gets me every time I think on it. From Kari ‘We went to a movie at the Marcus Point theatre (The Greatest Showman) and afterwards he wanted to show me a billboard he put up for work (He works for Adams Advertising). So he drove us down Odana Road and said that I had to close my eyes because he had to turn the car around. Well he parked the car in a small parking lot near the board and came around to open my door, making sure that I still had my eyes closed. He helped me out of his car and said “Okay, open your eyes”. When I did, he was kneeling in front of me with the ring. But on the giant billboard behind him, it said “Kari will you marry me?” And he was so choked up with words that he couldn’t say anything and neither could I so I just nodded and he put the ring on my finger.’
Collective WOW and Awe…..”
Ok folks so he brought the actual billboard print to the reception! I know! You can see it in the first collage on the left. It is an advertisement for Jewelers Workshop with Kari’s ring! They had better tell their grandchildren this story. I mean this is like right out of Nicholas Sparks.
And OH MY when Brian saw Kari at the first look, he said “HOLY SHIT!” Yep can’t make that up. 🙂 The bridesmaids and I were all in agreement that she rocked that dress with those lace cutouts like a fashion model.
The very short and sweet ceremony led them straight to cocktail hour and the reception to celebrate among friends and family. And yes the first dance song was “A Million Dreams” from The Greatest Showman. OH my circus heart! They make this Baraboo lady proud.
Congrats and Cheers to many many happy years Brian and Kari!
