Ellyn and Kyle are Engaged – A UW Madison Picnic Point Date
Ellyn and Kyle set out with me on a hot muggy Sunday evening at Picnic Point for an engagement session that was green and gold and full of love.
Picnic Point is the perfect setting for photos. It is a little strip of land that juts out on Lake Mendota. Picnic Point is part of and maintained by The University of Wisconsin. Best of all, it is FREE to enjoy! One side boasts views of the Capital and the Union Terrace. The other side presents a beach and pretty views of rolling hills towards Middleton. And at the very end of the point there is a terraced lookout point complete with the tree that grown sideways in that spot for a very very long time! In fact, (I’m dating myself) in 1999 I remember playing around with my film Nikon on Picnic Point taking photos of that very tree! Oh My! Now I set my clients on it and take in just how much Madison is very special place.
Ellyn and Kyle told me they had never been, even though they are avid hikers. I’m so glad I was able to show them a little treat in Madison. They were nervous at first, but then went for it! They are so darn cute! When the Packers t-shirts came out, well….it got cuter! They played rock paper scissors on the sideways tree. HA! All in all they nailed this session! I can’t wait for next summer. They will be married on June 10th, 2017! The reception is at the Wilderness in Wisconsin Dells (more of my home! yep!). Soooooo more woodsy love to come. Maybe Mirror Lake State Park. Hmmmmm
Cheers! – Erin Melissa
