Erin and Dan are Married – A Madison Wisconsin Wedding
Erin and Dan know how to have fun on their wedding day. Erin’s smile is present in every photo. She radiates happiness! This wedding was full of love, traditions, laughter, family, and many things Madison.
Erin and Dan were married at the Pres House, a historic beautiful church in the heart of the UW Madison campus. They incorporated many family heirlooms into the details of their day. I love love love that! A blue broach was placed in Erin’s bouquet for the wedding ceremony. The broach was Dan’s great grandmother’s. Erin wore a hair pin that was her great grandmother’s. Dan wore his grandfathers cufflinks. Dan and his dad also had to wear Bucky socks. It was game day and they are die hard fans. So fun!
Once they were all set, they did a first look right outside with the beautiful backdrop of the church. They were silly silly and so in love! I want to clap as I look at the photos again. We did some bridal party photos pre ceremony and then hurried back in to get these two married.
The ceremony was absolutely lovely in the Pres House. The old architecture and stained glass windows provide the perfect setting for the marriage vows.
I felt so bad for Dan’s little niece (flower girl). She was brave at first and as she got halfway down the aisle, she was so scared. She was crying and Grandma swooped in the for the rescue. What was funny is her brother (the ring bearer) was clueless as to what was happening with his sister. Man I love kids at weddings! So adorable! We then followed with family pictures that were filled with laughter and memories.
The reception was held at the Inn on the Park, so naturally to get from point A to point B, we walked all of State Street. Erin and Dan were like celebrities as folks on the street congratulated them. First stop, State Street Brats to check on the game and have a celebratory beer. Second Stop, Buck and Badger for a few reasons. This is Luke’s (groomsman) favorite bar and it reminds Erin and Dan of Hayward Wisconsin were Dan’s parents have a cabin. Last stop, the Capitol for the final round of photos. Mostly these friends were having a blast! This bridal party was a group of close friends celebrating Erin and Dan all day. So much love!
We finished off the night at the Inn on the Park, for dinner and dancing. Oh and I have to mention about the cake. Julia Magellen, the pastry chef at Hotel Red, well this was her first wedding cake! What?! It was beautiful and yummy! Go girl.
As I write this Erin and Dan are enjoying their delayed Honeymoon (Thanks Hurricane Mathew). I hope they are relaxed and enjoying a much deserved break on the beach.
Congrats and Cheers – Erin Melissa
